Creative Zen Review

November 18, 2008

I got myself Creative Zen media player. I need my music everywhere and was experiencing withdrawal symptoms after my Sony Ericsson walkman phone Earphone died.

I love my Zen and has become extension of my body. Its has 4GB capacity with expandable memory option. Apart from that it has nice but not much used features like Microphone for recording, Video and FM radio. Radio receiver is kinda bad and picks up bit noise and distortion but I don’t worry about that much because there isn’t much to listen to on Radio around here in New Delhi. Sound quality is very good and has custom EQ as well, but I don’t use that much, Presets are good enough.

It has shiny front panel which attracts lots of smudges and scratches. Keys are bit tacky and location of headphone jack annoys me sometimes.

Software interface and navigation is real easy. The screen is crisp and bright an important feature when using outdoor. Its very slim and looks cool and doesn’t weigh much either.

It uses Microsoft’s MTP protocol for data transfer. I like it better than I-Pod because it does not need proprietary software for data transfer and plays unprotected content too. I use GNU/Linux exclusively and use Amarok to transfer music.

For additional info you can check the official webpage.

At INR 5500 its best you could get.

Its a good player in that price range from what I could find out. And 4GB is decent space to store your tracks. Happy Listening :)

  2. Hi Sohail,

I got your profile from LinkedIn. Since its a little urgent, I am putting this comment to your blog page.

I am looking for a Python Corporate Trainer. Its a 2-3 days training. We can provide good compensation for the same.

Please let me know if you are interested in the same.
